Set in 1965, The Woods takes place at an all girls boarding school. Reminiscent of Suspiria, it centers around a coven of witches masquerading as the school’s administrators. Heather, who is a sassy little tart, enters the school as a new student and discovers that a world of secrets lie in the woods outside the school. I enjoyed every aspect of this movie. From the selection of Bruce Campbell to play Heather’s father to the subtle and creepy ambiance of the school, I found that everything worked brilliantly. The gore effects were high quality. Highly recommend!
